I am one of Scotland’s most experienced theatre photographers, with over 40 years of experience working in theatres throughout Scotland. My approach is organic, aiming to document your production and capture the essence of performances. I rarely stage photographs, no pun intended, instead aiming to photograph a live performance, usually a dress run-through. However, the advent of totally silent cameras has allowed me from time to time to capture live performances.

There’s a subtle difference between headshots and portraiture and a significant difference between theatrical and business headshots.
About
My photography career began, like many photographers, with Wedding Photography, in the days of film, Leica’s and Hasselblad’s. For a couple of years in the 1970’s I was fortunate to be commissioned to photograph Formula One, and then I discovered Theatre Photography. Since then, most of my Professional work has been in this area. Apart from a passionate interest in the Theatre, both my wife and my youngest daughter are performers, so it’s a match made in heaven.
